Katz’s Deli
Ok this place is a tourist trap but I still had a good pastrami sandwich. :)

Home made sunday sauce. It’s a secret but it’s good. Admire the large pot and the deliciousness that accompanies it.

Aroma Espresso Bar
Sometimes I get on that healthy tip and eat something good for me. My favorite “good for you salad” is from this cafe. It’s the small Quinoa Salad. I’ve had a recent love affair with quinoa so I’m down with that in any form. I kind of want to make my own mexican style quinoa salad. When I do i’ll be sure to post it up here. Also that’s a chai latte. It’s delicious.

Halal Cart
Combo lamb & chicken extra white a little hot. Thats what you’ll say when you get to the front of the line after waiting 20 minutes. I would have taken a photo of everything mixed together but I was really hungry. Also be careful with that hot sauce. I love everything spicy so trust me.

Pop Burger
I know I said I hate hamburgers but these don’t count because they’re sliders. I’ve only been to this establishment between the hours of 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM so my judgement might be a little bit off here but if I’m in the meatpacking area I know I’ll end up here at the end of the night. Their french fries are definitely worth a mention as well.

Crif Dogs
The one in the picture is the Chihuahua Dog. I was afraid when I first read the ingredients which are sour cream and avocado on top of a bacon wrapped deep fried hot dog in a potato bun but surprisingly it was delicious. I wish I lived in the neighborhood because they deliver which is nice considering I’ve fallen down the stairs by the entrance both times I’ve come to eat here.

Dinosaur BBQ
I live on the opposite end of Manhattan, literally at the bottom of the island, and I would drop everything if someone called me and wanted to go up there for some BBQ. No pix of the deviled eggs but they’re so good. Go up there tonight and get some BBQ, but expect to wait a while. Or you could do what I do. Pretend to be at work and then show up right when they’re getting seated:)

I hate burgers. I think that they all just taste the same, like a big patty of tasteless meat. I’ll still try a burger if someone says that it’s the “best burger” but I’ll usually be skeptical about that claim. Shake Shack’s Shack Burger completely made me fall in love with burgers. It was SO tasty! After my first Shack Burger I went back about 5 times within two weeks which is pretty gross considering how fatty they are but I don’t really care. It’s definitely worth the wait on that line in Madison Sq Park.

A tiny place that only serves french fries with a wide variety of sauces and chutneys to dip them in. The only way I could be any more satisfied is if they were covered in melted mozzarella cheese. I’m pretty sure the sauces we had were parmesan peppercorn, pesto mayo and sweet chili. All three were really good on top of the vinegar that we poured all over them. I’ll definitely come back for more but probably not when there are a million college kids pouring out of the door.

8 months ago • 0 notesThis will be my new spot to upload pictures and write (briefly) about places that i’ve eaten or would like to check out along with some home made stuff. Some of these are old but I’m just getting started. There’ll also be lots of cell phone pic’s so excuse the quality. Anyway here we go.
